Degree, Program & Career Commitment of First-Year Students

For college students, selecting both a major and a career path can be challenging decisions. With students encouraged to make decisions quickly, combined with countless options, many end up changing their minds later in their college careers. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, 80% of students in the U.S. change their major at least once during college. Furthermore, the decisions often go hand-in-hand with 66% of students selecting a major based on a career path they are interested in, according to the National Association of Colleges and Employers.
